On-Site Service 24/7/365

Be prepared for major storms and hurricanes by knowing what to do with your sewer system. For instance, what if your cleanout cap is broken, or how much water can you use after a grinder pump loses power? Take a few minutes to read our suggestions on this site, and you could prevent issues during and after major storms.

BCSS is preparing interoffice and Service operations for the possibility of severe weather in our area. See the latest forecast here.. Please be aware that if and when we experience severe weather conditions, such as high winds, tornados or substantial storms, we may not be able to communicate with you for 24 hours before it hits and at least 24 hours afterwards. We won’t be dispatching any employees until conditions are safe for them to travel. Continue to call our main (251) 971-3022 phone number to get in touch with us either directly or through the answering service, and someone will return your call as soon as they can.

When power is out in your area, the key for everyone is to limit water that you send down the drains as much as possible. Even if you don’t have a grinder pump, this will help to prevent overloading nearby lift stations that pump wastewater to the WWTPs. When conditions are safe for our employees, crews will work as quickly as possible to resolve issues with the sewer system that the storm has caused. During power outages, we utilize bypass pumps, back-up generators, pump trucks and all equipment and employees available to help aid in operating the main sewer system throughout Baldwin County until permanent power is restored.

Thank you so much for your patience as we work to provide reliable sewer service during this time. We will keep our Facebook and Twitter updated with any news. We hope that you stay safe and wish you luck during your preparations!
