To kick off the new year, you may want to add “Be prepared for hurricane season” as a resolution! Since being fully prepared for severe weather is crucial in our area, we want to help our local community with that task. Baldwin County Sewer Service is giving away a generator transfer switch to ten current BCSS customers who have grinder pumps.
As you may know, properties that are connected to pressurized main sewer lines need grinder pumps. The grinder pumps send wastewater from properties to the main sewer lines. Even though pump basins hold approximately 100 gallons of wastewater, the pumps do not work without power. A generator transfer switch allows a grinder pump to be used with a suitable portable generator when power is out for a while. It can be installed by an electrician with a standard residential grinder pump that was installed on the BCSS sewer system prior to January 4, 2021.
Baldwin County Sewer Service System will not be installing the transfer switches; however, we are also giving away $100 gift cards with the transfer switches, which are valued at $370, to help with the cost of hiring an electrician for installation.
