  • BCSS Offers Generator Interface for Grinder Pumps

Panel installs next to grinder control box
When the power goes out, lots of things don't work. However, in most cases, you will still be able to flush the toilet. Power outages in this area are not uncommon and usually short lived. If you have an E-One grinder pump and the power goes out, you have about 43 flushes before the grinder pump basin fills up. That's enough to handle 2 to 3 days of continuous power interruption. Remember, you won't be running the clothes and dishwasher. If the power is out for more than a couple of days, most people will go somewhere else.

BCSS is offering an Optional Auxilliary Power Transfer Switch to sewer customer that allows grinder pumps to be run off of a generator. The panel includes:

    (2) 220 volt/30amp interlocked breakers
One for primary power/One for generator power, Safety Interlocked
    Twist Lock Receptacle
Durable NEMA 4X Weather Resistant Housing/Non-Corrosive
    U.L. Listed
    10"X8"X5" enclosure dimensions
    Standard Twist Lock Plug available
    Minimum 5,000 watt generator required

The panel does not come with the cable that attaches the generator to the panel.

Cost for the unit is $400 installed.
